More About Me...

A 1995 graduate from the University of Florida, but a diehard Georgia Bulldog. (I did spend three years at UGA.) I am a Bulldog season ticket holder and I live in Gainesville, FL. Every Fall I trek up to Athens in my RV for most of the games. My Pop and my buddies usually join me. Sometimes my wife and kids keep me company as well. It is always a good time.

Product Review: Reef Sandal Flasks

dram-reef-sandals-flask.jpgMy wife is a very understanding woman. She not only supports my tailgating activities with my friends, she also buys me awesome presents for my tailgating. Case in point, last year she bought me a pair of Dram Reef Sandals. These sandals are rather unique because they can hold up to 3 ounces of liquid in each sandal. There is a small cap on the side for easy access. After one season with the Drams, what do I think?

The Drams are a great conversation piece. That is about it. Unfortunately there seems to be an engineering problem with these sandals. After normal wear for about a month, I started to notice cracks in the flask section. This obviously rendered the sandals unusable to sneak alcohol into any sporting events.

My buddy also bought a pair of these sandals. He had the exact same problem with the sandals cracking after a month or two. He also had another issue where the cap apparently blew off while he was walking. It took him several weeks to get a replacement.

In the end, the Drams are a great idea that needs a great deal of work. Perhaps Reef will put some extra money into these. You would expect a better product after paying $40-$50 for sandals. Alas, I have moved on to my new Reefs with just a plan old bottle opener on the bottom.

I totally agree. I prefer the Fanning Route with Reefs. A bottle opener, or rather two of them. I have found them to be quite useful. You can’t go wrong with flop that will open up a beer……
